VOLUNTEER WITH MIRACLE LEAGUE
Volunteers are the foundation of what we do at the Miracle League of Milwaukee, and we can not run our program without them. Our goal is to let families cheer in the stands and watch their athletes play with support from volunteers.
Volunteering with Miracle League is a great way to give back to our community and gain experience working with people with diverse abilities. Brief descriptions of volunteer opportunities are listed below. No matter the role, enthusiasm and compassion are key!
To become a volunteer, please register through VolunteerMatters. From there, you'll be able to view our Volunteer Project Catalog for one-time and ongoing volunteer opportunities.
- Player Partners
Get paired with a player to assist them on and off the field during a two-inning game. Player Partners can be individuals (a fellow classmate, parent, athlete, Y member, business leader, or community member) or a group of people (college or high school students, employees/co-workers, family members). - Team Coaches
Help manage, coordinate, lead, and encourage selected team. Serving as a team coach is a 5-week commitment. - Umpire
Help manage and officiate games while also overseeing the behavior and safety of all athletes and their partners playing baseball. - Team Parents
Assist coaches with team activities and act as a liaison for the team. Team Parents demonstrate enthusiasm, love, and concern for each player and family. - Announcer
Have fun as our master of ceremonies. Must be animated -- this is big time for our players! - Concession Stand Assistant
Help us raise money by working the concession stands, preparing food, and serving drinks at games. - Miracle League of Milwaukee Board Member
Analyze and provide feedback to ensure that the strategic vision and programs of the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee are relevant to community needs, and the needs of our Miracle League participants and their families.
